What are Texas Pecans?

Pecans are nuts native to the Americas. Texas is among the largest producers of pecans. Texas pecan nuts are primarily sourced from Texas. They offer numerous health benefits including lowering blood pressure, lowering levels of bad cholesterol, and antioxidant benefits.

Also, pecans are linked to lowering the risk of dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, thanks to their rich vitamin E content. Additionally, they promote weight loss. Also, they are rich in minerals such as manganese and copper that contain anti-inflammatory properties, thereby reducing the risk of heart disease.

How to Make Texas Pecan Coffee

What you will need:

  • Texas pecan coffee
  • Coffee grinder
  • Tablespoon
  • Filtered water
  • Drip machine
  • Paper filter
  • Coffee cup(s)

Recipe:

Step 1- Place a paper filter on the filter basket of your drip machine.

Step 2- Grind your Texas pecan coffee into a medium grind size. Preferably, use a burr grinder for the best results.

Step 3- Measure out enough ground Texas pecan coffee and put it in the filter basket. We recommend 1 to 2 tablespoons of ground pecan coffee per 6 oz cup.

Step 4- Add cold filtered water to the tank of your drip coffee maker. Avoid using mineral or distilled water. You can use tap water, but filtered water will give you the best-tasting pecan coffee.

Step 5- Start your drip machine and let it run until completion.

Step 6- Remove the coffee pot from the burner of your drip machine as soon as the brewing process is complete. If you allow it to continue sitting on the burner, it may turn out bitter.

Step 7- Serve your hot Texas pecan coffee into the waiting coffee cup(s).

Texas Pecan Coffee Buying Guide

When buying Texas pecan coffee, you need to be sure that you are buying the real thing. Essentially, authentic Texas pecan coffee should only have two listed ingredients, which are coffee beans and Texas pecan nuts.

Due to the high price and popularity of pecan coffee, it is common to see pecan coffee made by adding pecan flavoring compounds to coffee beans during roasting. Doing so minimizes cost. Although it is not bad to do so, this is not authentic pecan coffee. If you want to enjoy real pecan coffee, choose the one with real pecan nuts instead of pecan flavorings.
