Coffee mugs made of stainless steel are preferred for their strength and durability. They keep coffee warm and look like-new for quite a long time.
If you drink coffee from a stainless steel mug quite often, odor and residue may build up over time. You can use inexpensive cleaners to cleanse and deodorize the mug.
Step 1
First, pour baking soda (2 tablespoons) into an empty mug. Baking soda works as a deodorant.
Step 2
Add a ¼ cup of vinegar (apple cider or white distilled vinegar).
Step 3
Once mixed, the ingredients will foam inside the mug. That way, the mug will be deodorized and disinfected.
Step 4
Next, close the lid and shake the mug for about 5 seconds for the mixture to scrub the interior thoroughly.
Step 5
Open the lid and pour the mixture. Rinse the coffee mug thoroughly with some hot water. Doing so will remove remnant cleaners from the mug interior.
Step 6
Wet a clean cloth and use it to wipe the inner surface of the mug. Rinse it again with some hot water.
