The Gilkatho Cappuccino Price Index tm is produced by Gilkatho Pty Ltd, a Brisbane based distributor of coffee equipment and supplies.
The Real CPI - Gilkatho Cappuccino Price Index tm has been developed by Gilkatho since 2002 and first published in 2003. The Real CPI is an indicator of the consumer's appetite for, and acceptance of, the prices being found in the market for retail coffee sold by the cup. The index is compiled by surveying over 600 individual coffee outlets and recording the asking price for a standard cappuccino drink.
The Gilkatho Cappuccino Price Index reflects the pricing tension between the real costs of producing the product & service and the consumers' willingness to pay.
